Readoption!

Today we went before a Judge who looked over all our documents from China and decreed that our adoption of Maggie Rose Loftus is recognized and legalized in the great State of Texas.  She can now have a Texas birth certificate to use for the rest of her life whenever she needs it! Whoo Hooo!

No More Tubes

At our recent visit with the plastic surgeon we asked for the nose tubes to be taken out 1 week early.  He was ok with it and out they came.  They had rubbed her nose raw in 3 places so those are still healing but these photos do a decent job of showing the final product!

Constantly chasing the cats, they are always just out of her reach.

Max has a little more patience for Maggie.

Bath Time!

At the request of the Georgetown crowd, we have a bath time post.  Maggie loves her bath.  When we were in China and I bathed her the first night it broke my heart to see her sit right down and start washing herself.  Now bath time is play time.  We linger and play and she loves it.  Right now we are having 2 baths a day so we can clean out the dreaded nose tubes.  We won't miss them when they're out!  Until then we play all the more!

Note the fishing.  I think Shawn is training her early!

Before and After

These photos are for comparison purposes.  They help me to see just how much of a miracle we have witnessed!
 Before

After

Just a little bruising left and some bacitracin on the upper lip and nose tubes. Truely amazing!

Holy Snow!

I'm betting Maggie has never seen snow and I sure never thought she would see it here in San Antonio.

Wow what is this stuff. It sure is cold!

New Smile

Maggie has a new smile!  Some of the photos are blurry because she is running to me and I'm trying to take her picture before she gets to me.
Every day after surgery is a better day!  Bruising is setting in but believe me she is feeling MUCH better!

Matthew always gets her to smile.

We haven't worn no no's in a couple of days and Maggie only has taken her bandaid off.  It can stay off as of Sunday anyway.  The nose tubes will stay in a couple of weeks and will be harder to keep her away from I think.  Eating is not back to normal but is getting better!  Thank you for praying for her!

Day after surgery

Maggie is pretty miserable!  She has to wear "no no's" on her arms to keep her from picking at her face.  Let me say these make her so MAD.  She wakes up multiple times angry about them.  She hates her ear drops (for the tubes) and taking her medicine is a 2 person job involving holding her down etc.
Thankfully the power of distraction is high with Maggie.  We decided to go to the zoo as the weather was beautiful!

When she is busy she forgets to try to take the bandaid off her face.

Looking at the Prairie Dogs

Maggie has a new look!

She enjoyed watching Daddy feed the birds but wanted no part of it herself.

We got through the whole day without wearing the no no's.  Afterward she slept long and well also with out the no no's!
